Icelandic director and actor Gísli Örn Garðarsson was awarded the Elliot Norton Theatre Award when he was named outstanding director at a large theater this past Monday in Boston, MA.
The award is voted on by American theatre critics, and was given to Gísli for his work, The Heart of Robin Hood, which was performed at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA.
The Heart of Robin Hood also bagged the Design-team awards, sharing them with the show “The Flick.”
Gísli is a founding member of Icelandic theater group Vesturport.
