information on asylum seeker Tony Omos, who was facing deportation at the time, to selected members of the press. DV also reports that Gísli Freyr received an email from the Suðurnes Police Department (Reykjanes peninsula) containing information on Tony Omos’s case. This information was added to the leaked memo.
Gísli Freyr eventually confessed to leaking the information on November 11 and received an eight-month suspended prison.
