Germans hold most positive views of Iceland 8406

According to a poll conducted by Íslandsstofa Promote Iceland, public views of Iceland abroad are still continuing to improve. Public opinion of Iceland was at its lowest point following the 2008 financial crash. The poll, which surveyed people from eight countries who travel at least once each year on their views of Iceland, found that Germans hold the most postive views of Iceland. 75% of Germans hold a positive view of Iceland as a travel destination.

Improving views in the UK
The poll surveyed people in the US, Canada, UK, Denmark, Germany and France on their views of Iceland and Icelandic products. The majority of respondents 65% say they hold a positive view of Iceland and Icelandic goods, and 70% say they hold a positive view of Iceland as a destination. The poll found that public opinions of Iceland have continued to improve since the 2008 crash. In January 2011 only 10.5% of respondents in Britain said they were positive toward Iceland, but 61.5% said they were positive when the poll was repeated this year.
