The German consumer organisation Stiftung Warentest recently published results from a new study on anti-ageing products. The organisation tested nine popular anti-ageing products and the results showed that none of them did what they claimed to do.

Tests were conducted by using ‘split face design’, where a placebo is applied on one half of the face and the active product on the other. Interestingly enough, the same method was used to determine the effect of BIOEFFECT EGF Serum from Icelandic skin care company ORF Genetics and the results were astounding, according to Dr. Martina Kerscher, professor of cosmetic science at the University of Hamburg, who lead the research.

Kerscher said that BIOEFFECT EGF Serum increased skin thickness by 60 percent and skin density by 30 percent.

The BIOEFFECT products claim to repair the look of ageing skin and are the result of 10 years of biotechnology research conducted in Iceland.
