The Icelandic Economy continues to boom, the latest figures on the Gross Domestic Product from Statistics Iceland reveal. During the first quarter of 2017 the non-seasonally adjusted GDP grew by 5% in the first three months of 2017. Icelandic GDP grew by 7.2% in 2016, and is projected to grow by by 6% in 2017.

According to Statistics Iceland total domestic expenditures increased by 3.2% during the first three months. Household consumption increased by 7%, government consumption by 1.8% and gross fixed capital formation by 2.5%. At the same time exports grew by 5.4% and imports by 3.1%.
