Not a single homosexual couple in Iceland adopted a baby from abroad between the years 2008 and 2012. This was reported by visir.is. This isn’t because of lack of interest on their part or problems with adoption-laws in Iceland, but countries that Iceland has adoption agreements with, refuse to adopt to homosexual parents.

The countries most children are adopted from to Iceland are India, China, Columbia, Czech Republic, and Togo. The Icelandic government has information that the Samtökin ‘78 The National Queer Organization in Iceland is working on finding countries, which allow adoption to homosexual couples, and Adoption Agencies in Iceland could add to their list. South Africa is one of the countries that allow adoptions to gay couples and adoption agencies in Iceland are currently trying to create a relationship between South Africa and Iceland so homosexual couples can have the same chance to adopt a baby as heterosexual couples.
