Film crews and actors from the popular HBO TV series Game of Thrones have returned to Iceland, the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service RÚV reports. The crew is here to shoot scenes for the seventh season of the series which will be premiered this summer. A spokesman for the Icelandic production company Pegasus Pictures, which has worked on the Game of Thrones filming in Iceland, refused to comment, but according to the sources of RÚV the Game of Thrones crews will remain in Iceland until February.
The website Winteriscoming.net published photographs taken at the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon in South East Iceland, showing Game of Thrones crew members. The photographs have all been removed from the web. The crew-members in the photos all work for the costume department of Game of Thrones, prompting Winteriscoming.net to speculate:
So costume professionals are in Iceland, which has previously stood for areas beyond the Wall. Hopefully, this means that actors (or at least extras) will be in the area. Where there are costumers, there are people to costume.
And what might the crew be filming in the area? Previously, the snowbound areas of Iceland stood in for places beyond the Wall, and it makes sense that they will again.
But in addition to the photos revealed by Winteriscoming.net a foreign traveller, visiting Iceland, unexpectedly ran into Kit Harrington on January 10. Kit, of course, plays Jon Snow. Tweeter nat posted a photograph her cousin had posted:
yo what a memory im so jealous lmao pic.twitter.com/Ar4apyKEkS
