Frigid weekend ahead, but that means clear skies and northern lights 2430

13. mar 2023 20:12

According to the Icelandic Met Office (IMO) there is quite a cold weekend ahead around the whole island. The reigning wind will be from the north and that should mean clear skies in the southwest and some promising conditions for northern lights sightings!

On Friday sunset is at 18.17 (6.17 pm) in the capital and sunrise 9.04 on Saturday. It's as dark as it gets from 19.07 (7.07 pm) to 8.14 according to IMO.

The temperature will drop down to at least -9 C (16 F) during the night in the capital area so dress warm if you are heading out, for a beer, the northern lights, or both.
