Comedian and former mayor of Reykjavík, Jón Gnarr, does not rule out the possibility of running for president in 2016, reports the National Broadcasting Service.

Jón was one of four recipients of The Lennon Ono Grant for Peace Award this year. The award has been handed out every two years since 2002 and is awarded to individuals who symbolize the continuing campaign for world peace. Jón plans to donate the award money, 6 million krónur in total (39.110 euros/ 49.566 US dollars), to a shelter for abused women.

At the event he was questioned about the possibility of him running for president in 2016.

“It’s certainly a possibility, however, right now it’s fairly unlikely,” Jón said. Adding: “Of course I’m touched when I hear that people would like to have me as their president.”
