A foreign traveller was rescued yesterday evening by two local doctors who were out having a couple of drinks with friends. The man suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while he was dancing on the dance floor at a downtown hotel where he is staying, but was resuscitated by the doctors.
The incident took place at ten last night, the local news site Vísir reports. The man was dancing on the dance floor at the hotel bar when he suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest and fell to the floor. Fortunately two local doctors, who were out having fun with friends, could come to the man's help, immediately beginning CPR. The hotel also had an emergency defibrillator which helped resuscitate the man.
The man had regained consciousness before an ambulance arrived at the scene. He was then transferred to the National University Hospital where he is receiving care.
