Foreign national killed in car crash on Sunday morning was Polish, in his 30s 8669

The man who was killed in a severe head-on collision on Reykjanesbraut highway early Sunday morning was a Polish national, a man in his thirties. According to the Metropolitan Police the man had been living in Iceland for some time, working in construction.

The man was a passenger in a car which swerved into the wrong lane, crashing into a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. A court order has been issued barring the driver from leaving the country while the Police investigates the accident. The nationality of the driver has not been made public, but due to the court order it is likely the driver is a foreign national. Police has not commented on the cause of the accident or whether the driver is suspected of having caused the accident by breaking the law.
