Flights from 57 international destinations to Iceland — Largest ever winter schedule 3667

This winter fourteen airlines will offer scheduled flights to Keflavík International Airport, from 57 international destinations.

Keflavik International Airport (KEF) is Iceland‘s gateway airport handling the overwhelming majority of flights to and from the island. The airport is located on Reykjanes peninsula around 50 km (31 mi) south of Reykjavík.

KEF’s winter schedule has never before been as busy. The total number of seats flown in each direction will be more than 3 million, which is a 58.3% rise in capacity from last winter, according to a press release from ISAVIA, the company which handles the operation and development of all airports in Iceland.

KEF is to be expanded in several phases between 2017 and 2040 to handle as many as 25 million passengers annually, or five times more than in 2015, when 4.86 million passengers travelled through the airport.
