As of May 18th, flight attendants with Icelandair will no longer work overtime until a new contract has been drafted and approved. Flight attendants for the airline have also announced an 18-hour strike on May 27th, a 24-hour strike on June 6th, and a 48-hour strike on June 12th.
Icelandair pilots have been banned from striking by Parliament, but the 12-hour strike on FridayMay 9th caused 51 flights with Icelandair to be cancelled and affected thousands of travellers across the world.
If negotiations have not yielded results by June 19th, Icelandair flight attendants will go on a strike until an agreement has been reached.
Much like Icelandair pilots, flight attendants with the airline are also in negotiations for improved wages and working conditions. Whilst a law has banned pilots to strike, flight attendants are still able to use their right to strike.
