You are not too late to bid on one of Iceland's most beautiful sights in Iceland! A local realtor who listed Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon in South Iceland for sale in December 2016, is still looking for buyers. But don't wait too long: A realtor for Fasteignamiðstöðin told the local news site Vísir that he expects to have sold the canyon by the end of the year:

There are some people looking at this listing. We have gotten a lot of interest from prospective buyers who are looking into the purchase. Selling something like this isn't as easy as selling a small apartment in Reykjavík.

Will cost a significant sum

In December Fasteignamiðstöðin listed the farmland Heiði, by the village Kirkjubæjarklaustur in South Iceland as being offered for sale. The farmland, which covers 315 hectares has no structures but includes the Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon, unquestionably one of the most beautiful sights in Iceland. The realtor does not list an asking price, instead soliciting offers.

The realtor who spoke with Vísir said he expected the farmland to go for a significant sum.

One of the most beautiful spots in S. Iceland
The Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon is a magnificent canyon with sheer walls, about 100 m (330 ft) deep and about 2 km (1.2 miles) long. The serpentine canyon was likely created at the end of the last ice age, when a lake, which had formed above the canyon when the glaciers retreated, emptied out in a cascade flood. The present day Fjaðrá river is a calm pristine fresh water river which can be crossed fairly easily by wading.

The river Fjaðrá separates the two farmlands, Heiði and Holt, so that the canyon is owned jointly by the two farms. Heiði covers the entire eastern part of the canyon, while the western part belongs to Holt.

You can see plenty of photos of the canyon and check out the listing here.
