Fisherman Georg Arnarson from Vestmannaeyjar Islands landed yesterday a cod weighing over 30 kilos (66 pounds).
According to Morgunblaðið newspaper, the massive fish is the largest Georg has landed.
“It put up a great fight. Luckily I conditions were in my favour, otherwise the fishing line would undoubtedly have broke,” he said.
A local fisherman made news in 2014 when he landed a cod measuring some 50 kilos (110 lb).
