The Icelandic budget airline WOW air has announced it will introduce a new route connecting Iceland and Israel. The airline will begin flying to Tel Aviv on September 12. Tickets went on sale yesterday. This is the first time direct flights are offered between Iceland and Israel.
The route will be serviced by a brand new Airbus A321neo jet WOW recently purchased. WOW will fly four times each week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The duration of the flight is seven hours.
WOW air hopes that by adding Tel Aviv to its route map it will be able to offer American travellers visiting Israel the option of flying WOW air, making a stop-over in Iceland.
