A mother was forced to deliver her baby at home this morning as she was not able to reach the hospital in time. “The birth took place at the family’s home. It was a quick delivery,” said firefighter Lárus Kristinn Guðmundsson, who was called to a home in the Reykjavík suburb of Grafarholt this morning to assist with the delivery.
The Capital District Fire and Rescue. Service posted a heart-warming image on Facebook of the fire fighters holding the newborn.
According to the National Broadcasting Service, mother and daughter are in good health. The little girl was the third child to be born to her parents.
