The local ice-cream store Valdís has named its most recent flavour item in honour of the Finance Minister of Iceland, Bjarni Benediktsson. The flavor is called IceHot1, which is the user name chosen by Bjarni on the online dating service Ashley Madison.

On Monday Bjarni’s wife, Þóra Margrét Baldvinsdóttir made an announcement on Facebook to address rumours which had circulated in some circles that her husband’s personal information was in the data dump of Ashley Madison subscribers released by hackers a couple of weeks ago. Þóra explained that the two had registered “out of curiosity”.
