Iceland is the land of volcanoes. The country also has it's fair share of earthquakes due to the fact that the Nordic country lies on the Mid-Atlantic ridge separating North America and Europe.
With all of the earth rumbling activity at Bárðarbunga volcano system over the last two weeks, we thought it might be interesting to take a look at the fifteen year period from March 1997 – May 2011 to see the seismic movement stirring up agitation in Iceland during that time.
All in all the video, which was made by Icelandic company Datamarket, shows 242.724 Earthquakes and seven volcanic eruptions.
