The depth of Landeyjahöfn harbour’s entrance has decreased once more due to sand being stirred up from the ocean bed by wave action. The Herjólfur ferry will therefore sail between Vestmannaeyjar Islands and Þorlákshöfn harbour until Friday (4 December).
Weather and tides permitting, work to clear sand from the harbour entrance will begin by the end of the week.
Herjólfur will therefore sail as follows from 30 November – 4 December:
From Vestmannaeyjar Islands 8am and 3.30 pm
From Þorlákshöfn 11.45am and 7.15pm
