Elementary school teachers are currently in talks with the State about a new wage agreement with “no end in sight”.
Head of the Elementary School Teacher’s Union, Ólafur Loftsson, told mbl.is that negotiation about elementary school teacher’s salary is moving in slowly in the right direction. Teachers will get the chance to vote on a strike action after the Easter break.
Ólafur told visir.is that technically, Elementary School Teacher’s have been without a contract for nearly two years, and negotiations are moving too slow.
Teachers are not planning on going on a full-blown strike before summer, but rather to work stoppage on a few isolated days in May.
