According to data compiled by Dohop the British low-cost airline EasyJet and the German airline AirBerlin were most likely to be on-time at Keflavík Airport during June, The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service reports. However, the data is not complete, as the comparison only included airlines with more than fifty departures during the month.

According to the data 74% of the departures of EasyJet were on time, followed closely by Icelandair. The average delay for EasyJet departures was only 8 minutes, while Icelandair departures were delayed by 12 minutes on average. When looking at arrivals, AirBerlin was most likely to be on time, with 94% of flights arriving on time, and a average delay of only 2 minutes.

The dubious distinction of having the worst track record in June goes to WowAir, with 62% of both its departures and arrivals on time and a average delay of 32 minutes for both arrivals and departures.

The airport has been struggling in the past weeks to cope with the explosive increase in traffic. Long lines have formed at both check-in desks and the security gate, causing delays in departures. Travellers are advised to show up at least three hours before their flight is scheduled to leave.
