The Metropolitan Police were called to a hotel in downtown Reykjavík shortly after two in the morning. A drunken traveler who had entered the hotel lobby and was behaving erratically, shouting and showing the staff aggressive and threatening behavior. The traveler was not a guest at the hotel, but refused to leave the lobby when asked by staff. The staff was able to find out that the man was booked at a different hotel, but were unable to get the man to tell them which hotel.
When the police arrived at the scene to calm the man down and resolve the issue he became no more cooperative and refused to say where he was staying. The officers then arrested the man and took him to the station to take a statement. Once at the station the man continued his previous behavior, refusing to say where he was staying for the night and then flat out refused to leave the station.
He was therefore escorted to a holding cell where he was given the opportunity to sleep off his drunken rage and idiocy.
The diary of the Metropolitan Police comments that aside from this one drunk traveler the night was without any major incidents.
