Dill in downtown Reykjavík receives first Michelin star awarded to an Icelandic restaurant 6036

The Michelin Guide has awarded the restaurant Dill a Michelin Star in Iceland. Dill is the first restaurant in Iceland to be awarded the prestigious recognition.The head chef of Dill, Ragnar Eiríksson, received the award at an award ceremony in Stockholm earlier this morning.

Dill has previously received several awards, being named as the best restaurant in Iceland by lists like White Guide Nordic and Nordic Prize. Dill has also been recognized for the design of its locale.

Ragnar has been the head chef of Dill since late 2015 when one of the founders of the restaurant, Gunnar Karl Gíslason, left for New York where he opened the restaurant Agern at the Grand Central Terminal in New York. Agern was awarded a Michelin star last year. 

Dill is located at Hverfisgata 12 in downtown Reykjavík.
