Diligent mice assist employees in a market garden in East Iceland with their work 2341

Three industrious, little field mice have been hard at work at the market garden Barri in Egilsstaðir, according to Vísir. The zealous rodents have collected over 8,000 cones of Swiss Pine trees and stacked them neatly away between the forks of a forklift.

Barri’s director, Skúli Björnsson, is delighted with this addition to the company’s staff and describes the mice as very thorough labourers. “The mice only collect whole seeds which is something us humans have never been able to do, or even figure out how to do,” he said.

The 2.5 kilos (5.5 lbs) of seeds the mice had accumulated between the forks have now been removed but Skúli says the little workers have already begun hoarding more seeds at a different place inside the warehouse.

According to Skúli the little workers are handsomely rewarded for their hard work with food and board.
