Skúmaskot, a lovely artist-run designer boutique and gallery, has relocated to Skólavörðustígur 21 and will celebrate new beginnings tomorrow, 3 December.
The boutique was previously located in a small locale on Laugavegur shopping street, although hidden away from the city’s main thoroughfare’s hustle and bustle. Skúmaskot offers a wide range of hand-made designer items and art pieces, such as jewellery, accessories, clothing, paintings, and ceramics.
Designer Edda Skúladóttir, one of ten artists that together run Skúmaskot, says the group has settled nicely into their new dwellings. “The locale is lovely, especially because of the old shop fittings that have now been conserved. They lend the space much character,” she says.
The artists welcome guests to Skúmaskot’s opening ceremony tomorrow, Thursday, between 5pm and 7pm.
