The annual Culture Night will be held for the 21st time on Saturday, 20 August, with events taking place all over Reykjavík’s city centre.

Happenings will be held in the city’s galleries, shops, parks and in private residences. This year, the limelight will be on the Grandi harbour area, while also highlighting the historic Grjótaþorp neighbourhood located at the heart of the city, where an exhibition will mark Reykjavík’s 230th anniversary.

As in previous years, the event’s climax is the magnificent display of fireworks taking place at 11pm (23.00) at Arnarhóll hill (at Hverfisgata).

Please note: Many streets in the city centre will be closed due to the festivities. Bus services are free of charge all day Saturday.
