German photographer Martin Schulz is funding the publication of a selection of his photographs exploring the interplay between the changing seasons and Icelandic landscapes on the crowdfunding site Karolina Fund. The book, which is called “Icelandic Seasons” will feature photographs of some of Iceland’s most beautiful spots, including Öxarárfoss waterfall at Þingvellir and Kirkjufell mountain on the Snæfellsnes peninsula. But it will also include Shulz’s photographs of the Holuhraun and Eyjafjallajökull volcanic eruptions.
The publication is a joint project between Martin, Jón Heiðar Þorsteinsson, who is the editor of Stuck in in Iceland Travel Magazine and designer Aðalheiður Ormarsdóttir.
On the web page of the book on Karolina Fund Schulz explains that he has been “under the spell of this island” since his first visit: “I have never experienced so many different landscapes in such a small space. Fire and ice among stinted beauty, endless range, rugged tracks and lovely valleys. Iceland offers all of this. After a tour around the island I came back several times to explore the more hidden parts of Iceland, far off the beaten tourist tracks from the shore up into the highland interior,”
