The Metropolitan Police arrested a foreign traveler shortly before midnight yesterday, Wednesday. According to the Police Diary officers were called to the guest-house by staff who were at a loss how to deal with the man who was completely out of control, acting in a crazed and aggressive manner.
The arrival of the officers only seems to have caused the man to lose what little grip he still had on reality, as he refused to calm down or cooperate with police. The officers therefore arrested the man who fought back and resisted the arrest violently. He was taken to the Police station where he was invited to spend the night in a holding cell.
It is very rare for the Metropolitan Police to be called to guesthouses or hotels to talk to and calm down, or to arrest foreign travelers who are in some way disturbing the peace or engaging in dangerous or illegal activity.
