The warm weather most parts of the country have been enjoying today will be short lived, according to meteorologist Einar Sveinbjörnsson.
Einar discussed the weather forecast during the radio programme Morgunútgáfan this morning, saying that the low-pressure area passing over the country will shift towards the east during the weekend, bringing with it cooler winds from Greenland.
“It’ll become considerably colder this weekend,” he said.

Today’s forecast: It will become cloudy in the northeast and east with some heavy outbreaks of rain. Lighter wind and brighter skies in the southwest until afternoon, then becoming windy and overcast.
Maximum temperatures 20 degrees Celsius (68 Fahrenheit) in the southwest.
