A convoy of old Citroen 2CVs is making its way across Iceland’s interior. According to the National Broadcasting Service, the party is well-equipped and is escorted by larger 4×4 vehicles for safety reasons.
“The group has visited the highlands before and are well prepared. They expect to run into some minor problems on the way, that’s why they are being escorted by larger vehicles that can tow them to safety,” says inspector Hermann Karlsson with the police department in Northeast Iceland.
The caravan has not encountered any difficulties so far.
