Cold air over N-America feeding the winter storms hitting Iceland 2140

Yet another strong blizzard swept across Iceland last weekend. The weather has been unusually grim for the last two months, with very strong wind and snowstorms hitting almost every week.

According to Óli Þór Árnason, a meteorologist at the Icelandic Met Office, cold air over Canada is to blame for this misery.

“The low pressure systems feed of this cold air, which makes them more powerful and severe.”
