The small town of Reyðarfjörður in East Iceland has been named as one of the 10 places to see before they´re changed forever by CNN.

This comes after the East Fjords town was selected as the filming location for British psychological thriller, Fortitude. Specialist tour operators believe that there has been a 100% increase in the visitor numbers to Nordic countries, like Iceland in the recent years.

CNN states that many people are told you should´ve been here last year, this place used to be awesome. which is why they compiled the list of places to visit before the ´travel bores´ get there.

Whether it's an obscure beauty spot that's about to be exposed to the world via a hot new film or remote islands about to be made more accessible thanks to a new airport, these are the places on the brink of becoming major destinations.

Iceland is already becoming extremely populated with tourists, particulary Reykjavík, the capital. Smaller areas in the country, such as Reyðarfjörður might get more populated by tourists after the filming of Fortitude, if CNN is proved to be right.

Reyðarfjörður was home to the largest allied forces base in Iceland during World War II and the Icelandic Wartime Museum (no website) remains the town's most popular attraction today.

The town has a very small population of just over 1,000 residents.
