American actor Channing Tatum and his friends had to call for help when they got caught in a blizzard on Vatnajökull glacier, South Iceland. A local Search & Rescue team responded and guided the group safely down from the glacier.
Tatum visited Iceland last May but the story of his rescue has just surfaced via an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session he did on Reddit on the occasion of the forthcoming premiere of Magic Mike XXL. The Iceland story came when Tatum was asked: “Have you done anything recently that made you think, I can't believe I did that?!
His answer was: “I just went to Iceland and tried to do a small expedition across the glacier and we didn't make it. We had to be emergency evacuated as there was a white out blizzard which I got to take a poop in. It actually freezes before it hits the ground.”
The story of the rescue and Tatum’s graphic description of the freezing conditions was more than warmly received by Reddit’s readers, and was voted the top comment of the session.
