An unusually friendly sheep that spends its days roaming around Reykjadalur geothermal area in South Iceland has become somewhat of a local celebrity. According to Morgunblaðið newspaper, the sheep follows people around and is more than happy to pose for a photograph with travellers.
Andrés Úlfarsson, who owns and runs the travel company Iceland Activities, brings guests to Reykjadalur daily and says the sheep has been a regular in the area since the sheep were let out to graze at the beginning of summer.
“I’ve never seen a sheep behave like this. The other sheep in the area act like normal sheep and keep their distance from travellers,” Andrés says.
