The police has confirmed that 41 passengers were on board the bus that slipped off road and rolled on to its side this morning in South Iceland. The driver is Icelandic and on board was also an Icelandic tour guide.
The majority of the passengers are from China. Seventeen passengers were injured, at least five seriously and two are in intenisve care in a hospital in Reykjavík.
Two passengers were stuck in the bus and had to be cut out.
The accident happened around 30 km (18.5 mi) drive from the capital, on the road to popular travel destination Þingvellir National Park.
