Two brothers, Gabríel Þór Gíslason and Benjamín Ágúst Gíslason, will take to the streets this summer and offer hungry passers-by a bowl of tasty traditional meat-soup for a mere 1000 krónur (6,5 euros). The brothers will serve the soup from their newly purchased food-truck.
“Benjamín has dreamt about opening his own restaurant since he was five years old and now that dream has come true. He has spent great amounts of time in the kitchen over the past months coming up with the very best meat-soup recipe,” Gabriel explains in an interview with Fréttablaðið newspaper today.
During daytime the food truck will be parked outside the Reykjavík Grammar School building (MR), in Lækjargata, down-town Reykjavík, and on Lækjartorg square during night-time.
The great weather forecast for this weekend means the brothers will most likely be off to a flying start when they open for business today.
“We are offering a fifty percent discount between 12 and 1pm today. We recommend people drop by during this weekend and taste our soup or our bagels,” Gabríel concludes.
