We just found this fantastic surfing tale that was posted on Vimeo three months ago. It's by filmmakers Mikey Corker and Chris McClean and photographer James Bowden, who traveled to Iceland last year with surfers Taz Knight and Noah Lane.
The 3-and-half minute video tells their story of coming in close encounters with icebergs at the freezing Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, grappling with heavy wind on the black sand beach outside village Vík and of course riding some waves.
Asked about the travel cost Mickey explains that they did it cheap, camping and cooking their own meals. Just remember though, whatever it costs is not nearly as valuable as the experience it gives you. Money come and goes, memories last forever, he explains in the comments section of the video. And he is of course absolutely right. Witness for example the northern lights at the end of the video. Priceless, we say.
