The Öxi and Breiðdalsheiði mountain roads in East Iceland are impassable due to snow. Road conditions in other regions are mostly good, although motorists are warned of icy patches near Reynisfjall, South Iceland, on Holtavörðuheiði and Fróðárheiði mountain roads in West Iceland, in the Strandir region in the northern Westfjords, and in North Iceland.

Isolated snow or rain showers are to be expected all over the country this weekend, with temperatures falling below the zero mark (32 Fahrenheit) in the north and east.

Friday: Much of west Iceland will have a dry day with some sunny spells, while the northeast and east will experience continued snowfall. Maximum temperatures 7 degrees (44.5 Fahrenheit).

Saturday: Some clear spells in many parts of the country. The south-western corner will see isolated daytime showers, while the southeast can expect snowfall. Maximum temperatures 7 degrees (44.5 Fahrenheit).

Sunday: A strong breeze reaching 15 metres per second (34 mph/54 km per hour) in the south, but fair weather in the south and west. Some isolated snowshowers to be expected in the north and east. Maximum temperatures 7 degrees (44.5 Fahrenheit).
