Two weeks ago hikers in Southern Iceland, just north of the village of Höfn, south of Vatnajökull glacier, found a body of an unidentified young man. The body, which had been lying in a ravine in an uninhabited valley well of the beaten path, did not match the description of anyone who had gone missing in Iceland.

The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service reports that authorities have now identified the body as being that of a 19 year old Frenchman, Florian Maurice Francoise Cendre. Florian came to Iceland in October 2014, but there were no records of Florian actually leaving Iceland.
