After the bus accident this morning there was an immediate and urgent call for blood donors to help the blood bank in Reykjavík, which supplies blood to hospitals working with the influx of injured.

Following the accident Reykjavík's donation center put a call out in the media saying there was an urgent need for O Neg, O Pos and AB Plasma donors.
So many people have responded that donation center has announced on its Facebook page that it can't handle more visits today. The demand was met, and more than that.
