The American billionare, and the world‘s richest man, Bill Gates is scheduled to leave Iceland today along with his wife Melinda. The two have been travelling in Iceland since last week.

Visited both popular and more remote sights
According to the local news outlet visir.is the couple visited the pristine and remote Hornstrandir national preserve in the Northern Westfjords in the hope of spotting Arctic Foxes. Other destinations the couple has visited include the Vestmannaeyjar Islands, off the south coast of Iceland, Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir geothermal area, as well as having taken a private after-hours swim in the Blue Lagoon.

But missed out on Icelandic cousine
But despite having sampled some of the most magical sights of Iceland, the Gates’ did not sample the tastes of Iceland. According to the sources of visir.is they imported all the food and drinks they consumed during their trip, and „did not even take a sip of the Icelandic water“.

Iceland Insider has not independently confirmed this report, but we have a hard time believing that any visitor to the country would miss out on the opportunity to enjoy Icelandic lamb or fresh caught fish.
