Iceland came within one game of reaching its first major tournament during world cup qualification for Brazil 2014. However, the team fell to Croatia in the final playoff game. Now its time to see if the Viking nation can bounce back from the disappointment of narrow defeat.

The team is back in action for Euro 2016 qualification when they take on Turkey this Tuesday, September 9th at Laugardalsvöllur stadium in Reykjavik. The Icelander's are led by the talented attackers Gylfi Sigurdsson of Swansea City and Ajax striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson.

Iceland's group is comprised of some talented teams, so qualification will be no easy task. In addition to Iceland, Group A features the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Turkey, Latvia and Kazakhstan. There are two automatic bids for the top finishing teams in the group, with a third team entering a playoff to reach the group stage of the 2016 tournament.

The Netherlands and Czech Republic are favorites to finish one and two in the group, however, the third spot will likely be a fight against Turkey and Iceland for the playoff birth. Thus, the game tomorrow could go a long way in determining the destiny of this tiny Nordic nation.
