The theatre festival Act Alone is dedicated to the art of monodrama. The annual festival is held in Suðureyri on the second weekend of August and entrance is free of charge.

Simbahöllin café is located in an old grocery store in the beautiful little fishing village of Þingeyri, Westfjords. The coffee shop is open during the summer months and does not only offer tasty baked goods and coffee – it’s also a horse rental and the owners and staff will also gladly advice guests on interesting hiking and biking routes in the town’s vicinity.
Birds of a feather
Látrabjarg cliffs are home to many species of birds and a popular pit stop among bird watchers. This westernmost part of Iceland is 14 kilometres (8.7 miles) long and up to 441 metres (1447 feet) high and boasts of a breath-taking panoramic view over the North Atlantic. Visitors are advised to exercise caution and keep a safe distance from the edge of the cliffs.
The Arctic Fox Centre in Súðavík
The Arctic Fox Centre is a non-profit research and exhibition centre located in the town of Súðavík. The centre focuses on the arctic fox – the only native terrestrial mammal in Iceland, and was founded by local people, tourist operators and municipalities in the Westfjords.
The centre is open in June until the end of August from 9 am to 8 pm (10 pm on weekends).
