“There are so many activities in the area that one can do with children. I recommend the charming swimming pool in Lýsuhóll, just before you arrive at Hótel Búðir. The pool is filled with natural hot mineral water. Visit the Volcano Museum in Stykkishólmur or go whale-watching in Grundarfjörður. A walk between Hellnar and Arnarstapi is also full of adventures just waiting to happen.”

Best place for a picnic at Breiðafjörður bay
“I recommend a nice picnic on the mountainside near Fellsströnd region. There you’ll have an amazing panoramic view over Breiðafjörður bay, which is dotted with countless little islands. Make sure you’re not pressed for time, the view is so breathtaking that you’ll have a hard time tearing yourself away from it.”

Three things to see or do in Akranes town
“The lighthouse is located in the oldest part of Akranes town and was built in 1918. It was opened to the public a couple of years ago, and the view from the top is simply magnificent.
“If in town try not to miss a soccer game if local club ÍA is playing. Akranes is often referred to as a soccer town because of its great soccer tradition, and the atmosphere created in the stadium is wonderful during summertime.
“In the Akranes Museum Centre, you will find Byggðasafnið í Görðum, an interesting museum where you can learn about the history of the fishing industry in Akranes.”
