Vikingworld Iceland
Vikingworld Iceland is a five exhibition museum located in Reykjanesbær town, right along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Additionally, the facility also includes a settlement zoo, a playground for kids, and an outdoor classroom for lectures. The biggest attraction of Vikingworld is the authentic Viking ship built by the Icelandic ship builder Gunnar Marel Eggertsson in 1996 and was sailed to New York in the year 2000 as a part of the millennial celebration of Leifur Eiríksson's journey to the New World. Sólseturshátiðarvika – The Sunset Festival
The Sunset Festival kicks off this week in Garður municipality and continues through June 29th as Icelanders come together to celebrate the longest days of the year. There will be football games, musical performances, and great food at the annual event. Camping vehicles and RVs are supported at the site for a cost of 2.500kr, which includes electricity costs. Don‘t plan on getting any sleep as the part continues on through the midnight sun.
