Art festival at Skaftfell
In Skaftfell Center of Visual Arts in the town of Seyðisfjörður, the Ró Ró art festival has just started. The title of the exhibition refers to the quiet and simple life artists often deal with as a result of their lifestyle. This is lifestyle is exemplified by some of the art works that will be on display at the festival. Additionally, the festival draws on the local fishing influence that is a large part of the town's identity. The exhibition is the brainchild of Ráðhildur Ingadóttir, who is also serving as artistic director of the 2014 festival.

A forest festival is taking place in Hallormsstaðaskógur forest (the only forest of Iceland) this upcoming weekend. It should be a great event to bring the family to as there will be entertaining games and events for all ages. Additionally, there will be delicious food and fun competitions to see who is the ultimate forest man. Lastly, there will be music so everyone who plans on attending can just sit back and enjoy the weekend after a long week of work.
The beautiful Hengifoss waterfall
The hike up to Hengifoss waterfall close to the Hallormsstaðarskógur forest takes 2-3 hours (the round trip). It is quite challenging, rated 4 out of 5 in difficulty but the beautiful Hengifoss makes it worth the effort.At 128 meters (420 ft) it is second the highest waterfall in Iceland. It has been called the star of the many waterfalls of East Iceland.
