“There is good berry growth in northern Snæfellsnes peninsula and in the Dalir region. Whortleberries are found in abundance in North and East Iceland,” he says.
The dry weather in South Iceland over the past few days could have bettered berry growing conditions in the southern regions that are rich of delicious crowberries that will burst in your mouth.
Crowberries, blueberries and whortleberries are found all over Iceland – crowberries being the most common. It demands little time and effort to harvest your own wild berries, and the best thing is: They are completely free.
