Benedikt Erlingsson and Friðrik Þór Friðriksson won the Nordic Council Film Prize 2014 for the film “Horses and Men”. The film is Benedikt’s directorial debut.
According to the committee the film, which tells the story of country people from the horse’s point of view, is both original and funny. The director manages to combine “powerful visuals, editing and music in a way that makes the film itself stand out as a force of nature.”
