By tomorrow, Tuesday the wind will have picked up slightly around Iceland, with light snow or sleet in South and West Iceland. The temperature is expected to rise slightly during the rest of the week, but stronger winds and increasing likelihood of precipitation will make for a less friendly encounter with the elements.

By Wednesday we can expect light variable wind, and freezing temperatures. By afternoon on Wednesday we can expect to see snowfall, first in the west. By evening the snowfall will have turned into sleet or rain as temperatures rise.

On Thursday winds will have picked up, with a fresh to strong breeze from the south and southwest. South and West Iceland will see rain and a temperature of 4-8°C (39-46°F).

On Friday a fresh to strong breeze from the west with some snow showers in South West and West Iceland, but mainly fair and clearer skies in the east. Temperatures around freezing in most parts of the country.
